California Expired License Information
Late Renewals - Expired Less Than 2 Years
If you fail to renew your license on-time (prior to license-expiration date), you may renew your license during the two year late renewal period immediately following your license-expiration date. However, you cannot perform activities requiring a real estate license until your license has been renewed. Late renewal will not be effective until all requirements have been met, received, and processed by DRE. Late renewal applications are subject to all education and fee requirements effective at the time the license application is filed.
Expired Over 2 Years
Failure to submit proper late renewal requirements within two years from license expiration date will result in forfeiture of renewal rights. For more information, go to the CA DRE website and click on Steps to Becoming Licensed.
