Thriving in a Rebalancing Market

After a few tumultuous years of extreme ups and downs, the Spring 2025 housing market is finally showing signs of balance. Inventory of homes for sale, once near rock-bottom, has been climbing steadily. In fact, March marked the 17th straight month of rising supply nationwide.

🧠 Work Smarter, Not Harder

Are you finding your to-do list growing as fast as the spring inventory? You’re not alone. One trending topic among agents this week is time-blocking – the art of scheduling your day in focused chunks to turbocharge productivity.

  • Instead of multitasking (which often leads to multi-crastinating!), try dedicating set blocks of time to your most important tasks.
  • For example, block 9-10 AM daily for lead follow-ups and protect that time like a listing appointment. Then maybe 10:30-11 AM for checking and responding to emails, and so on. Agent Crate even has an example daily schedule specifically for agents if you're interested.

📱 Lights, Camera, Listing!

If you’re camera-shy, it might be time to step out of your comfort zone – because video marketing is hotter than ever in real estate. This week, agents nationwide are buzzing about leveraging short videos on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook to showcase properties and build their personal brand. Why the hype?

  • Buyers love video. In fact, real estate listings with video get up to 4 times more inquiries than those without, according to the article 25+ Mind Blowing Real Estate Video Statistics by photoup.net!
  • Even a 30-second walkthrough of a new listing or a quick neighborhood tour can grab attention and set you apart from the competition. You don’t need a Hollywood crew; your smartphone and a friendly smile can do the trick.

⚖️ Fair Housing Month

ICYMI: April was Fair Housing Month, a time for real estate professionals across the country to reaffirm their commitment to equal opportunity. (Every April, REALTORS® commemorate the 1968 Fair Housing Act, which outlawed housing discrimination.) What does this mean for your day-to-day business?

  • It’s a perfect reminder to double-check that your practices and language are welcoming.
  • Little things make a big difference – for example, when writing listings, steer clear of phrases that could exclude or hint at preference (avoid describing a home as “perfect for young families” or “ideal for Christians,” which could be read as discouraging others).

🎯 Quick CE Tip of the Week

✅ Don’t procrastinate – plan your CE now! As we head deeper into spring, remember that for many agents, license renewal deadlines are looming later in the year. For example, some states like New Jersey and South Carolina require renewals by June 30th every two years - looking at you, NJ and SC agents 👀. Rather than wait until the last minute, take a proactive approach to your continuing education. Carve out a little time each week – say, an hour on a quiet Wednesday afternoon or a Sunday evening – to knock out a module or two of your CE courses.
