Each two-year renewal cycle, the Texas Real Estate Commission chooses a mandatory, core topic for all renewing licensees to complete. Section ยง535.92 of the Texas Real Estate Commission Rules requires all license holders to complete Legal Update I and II before renewing their license. For licensees renewing in 2022 or 2023, this topic is Legal Updates covering some of the most relevant laws and regulations for licensees. The Texas Real Estate Commission provides the outline and text for the core course.

The purpose of Legal Update I and II is to support Texas license holder competence through the review of recent legislative and TREC rule changes, including changes to TREC promulgated contract forms. The courses include topics relevant to the current practice of real estate in Texas.
