Beginning July 1, 2021, there is an additional requirement of at least 2.5 hours of Ethics, and at least 1 hour of recent legal matters. This amendment also removes the 15-year real estate broker continuing education exemption starting July 1, 2021. These new requirements do not apply to you if the expiration date printed on your license is before July 1, 2021. Beginning September 21, 2022, 2 hours of Implicit Bias Awareness and at least 2 hours of Cultural Competency Training are also required. These courses will be available by July 15, 2022 and can be added to any purchased package by request at no additional charge. |

License Renewal can be completed by mail or online via the New York Division of Licensing Services website. The renewal process can be started here with an eAccessNY account. |

Yes, the full continuing education requirements can be completed with online courses. |

The New York Real Estate Commission requires a seat timer to ensure that courses cannot be completed in less time than the approved number of hours. |

Your license can still be renewed for up to two years after the expiration date. You can find out the status of your license and perform license transactions through New York's website and your eAccessNY account. If you are an associate broker or salesperson you must have a sponsoring broker to be eligible for license renewal. |
