Tennessee Real Estate License Renewal Requirements

Tennessee real estate licensees are required to complete 16 hours of approved continuing education biennially by the license's date of issuance. The education must include a 6-hour TREC Core course designated by the commission.

Empire Learning offers a full package of 16 hours for licensees in Tennessee, including a TREC Core course. You can select a pre-packaged bundle of courses based on course popularity or you can customize your own package with a variety of elective course topics.

Per TREC regulations, courses over 8 hours in length are required to have a minimum exam pass score of 70%. Empire Learning's 16-hour TN Renewal packages do not contain a course over 8 hours. Additionally, a final exam is NOT required for the 6-hour TREC Core course.

Which TREC Core Course Am I Required to Complete?

Empire Learning now offers the 2025-2026 TREC Core course.  Per TREC regulations, licensees are allowed to receive Core course credit for any Core course version they like at any time, as long as that course is still TREC approved.

Licensees can only receive credit for up to one Core course per renewal period, meaning you cannot take the same course twice in the same renewal cycle. To view your previously taken courses, check here: https://verify.tn.gov/
