Who Needs to Renew Their Nevada Real Estate License?

All active and inactive Nevada salespersons, broker-salespersons, and brokers must renew their licenses every two years, except for first renewals, which expire one year after initial licensure..

What Are the Nevada Real Estate Continuing Education (CE) Requirements?

After the first license renewal, all licensees must complete 36 hours of continuing education every two years, including the following course categories:

  • 3 hours Agency
  • 6 hours Contracts
  • 3 hours Ethics
  • 3 hours Law & Legislation
  • 3 hours Risk Reduction6 hours Broker management (Brokers and Broker-Salespersons only)

At least 18 of the required 36 hours must be taken through live instruction. There is no continuing education requirement for inactive license renewal, but inactive licenses must be renewed by the expiration date.

Nevada continuing education must be completed before submitting your renewal application by your license expiration date.

How Can I Check the Status of My Nevada Real Estate License?

You can verify your license expiration date on your license or by logging into your MyLicense account through the Nevada Real Estate Division Online Services.

How Can I Complete My Nevada Real Estate Continuing Education?

Continuing education may be completed through Nevada Real Estate Division–approved providers either in live classroom settings or online. At least 18 hours of the total CE hours must be taken live. There is no specific course category required for live course delivery.

Are there any specific requirements for Nevada regarding continuing education?

Yes. Nevada requires that at least half of all continuing education hours be completed through live classroom instruction. Business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal; Property Management permit holders must include 9 hours of CE for permit renewal.

What is Required For the First License Renewal as a Salesperson or Broker in Nevada?

All initial licenses are approved for a one year term. First-time salespersons and broker-salespersons must complete post-licensing education within one year of obtaining a license. There are some exceptions to this rule.  There is no post-licensing requirement for first renewal of a broker’s license; first-time brokers must complete the standard 36 hours of continuing education in the first year of licensure.

How do I find an approved provider in Nevada?

How Does Nevada Verify My CE Completion?

Nevada CE providers do not report course completions. Licensees are responsible for submitting certificates of completion directly with their renewal application through the Nevada Real Estate Division Online Services.
