Who Needs to Renew Their Missouri Real Estate License?

All active and inactive Missouri real estate salespersonsand brokers must renew their licenses every two years. Broker and entity licenses expire on June 30 of even-numbered years, while salesperson licenses expire on September 30 of even-numbered years.

What Are the Missouri Real Estate Continuing Education (CE) Requirements?

All active and inactive salespersons and brokers must complete 12 hours of continuing education during each renewal cycle. This includes 3 hours in the Missouri Real Estate Commission (MREC) Core topic, which for the 2026 renewal cycle is Fair Housing. The remaining 9 hours may be completed in elective or other approved course topics.

When Is Missouri Real Estate Continuing Education Due?

Continuing education must be completed by the license expiration date: June 30 for brokers and September 30 for salespersons in even-numbered years. Credits must be reported to the MOPRO website before submitting the license renewal.

What is Required For the First License Renewal as a Salesperson or Broker in Missouri?

First-time renewals in Missouri follow the same continuing education requirements as all other renewals. You must complete the standard 12 hours of continuing education.

How do I know Empire Learning is an approved provider in Missouri?

How Does Missouri Verify My CE Completion?

Providers are required to report course completions directly to the MREC MOPRO system. Licensees should also retain their certificates of completion for their personal records.

What is the most recent updates from MREC for licensees?

The Commission moved it’s license management system to MOPRO in January, 2025. If you have not created an account, click here for instructions to register your MOPRO account so you are prepared to your renewal in 2026.
